Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov has weighed in on the current public fallout between Jadon Sancho and Erik Ten Hag. He asserted that legendary former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson would have managed the situation significantly differently. He believed Ferguson’s way would have brought an immediate solution to the club and made the overall environment better.

Sancho clashed with Ten Hag after being excluded from the United squad during their 3-1 loss to Arsenal. Ten Hag publicly cited Sancho’s subpar training attitude as the reason. In reaction, Sancho posted on social media, claiming he was unfairly targeted. He later deleted the post to defuse tensions and demonstrate respect.

Dimitar Berbatov argues that Jadon Sancho’s conduct was ill-advised and asserts that publicly challenging the manager exacerbated the situation. He also states that under Ferguson, such behavior would not have been tolerated, and a player with such conduct would have been promptly shown the door.

The ongoing rifts at the club, with Anthony also facing a police investigation, have raised doubts about the squad depth in the winger position. The club has taken disciplinary action against the player, banishing him from first-team training. Sky Sports reports that the United manager anticipates an apology from the player for his return to the team. Still, Sancho has refused to budge, making things uncanny for the Red Devils.

Manchester United is currently dealing with a dual-player crisis that has cast a shadow of uncertainty over the team. Firstly, winger Antony’s future at the club is questioned as allegations of physical assaults from his former girlfriend have surfaced. The club has granted him a leave of absence to address these allegations. Secondly, English winger Jadon Sancho is training separately from the first team after a public dispute with manager Erik ten Hag.

This dispute followed his exclusion from the squad for a Premier League match against Arsenal. In response to these challenges, Manchester United is exploring potential solutions, including pursuing Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations have constrained the club’s spending, making a loan move for the 22-year-old Georgian player a plausible option.

Kvaratskhelia’s impressive past season with Napoli, during which he contributed 14 goals and 10 assists, makes him an attractive prospect. However, with the transfer window currently closed, the club may need to rely on existing players like Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri, although Diallo is sidelined due to injury. Additionally, manager Erik ten Hag may consider midfield reshuffling as a possible strategy to address the challenges posed by Antony and Sancho’s situations.
