Megan Rapinoe has come into the cross-hairs of Donald Trump yet again. This time alongside the current U.S. President, Joe Biden. The ex-President has taken hits on both of them after USWNT’s early exit from the FIFA Women’s World Cup. They went into the tournament as the favorites to win it but their performances were underwhelming. They only won one game against Vietnam beating them 3-0.

The USWNT drew the next two games with the Netherlands and Portugal. This helped them somehow get to the last 16 of the competition. They went to face Sweden in an exciting match where they had better possession of the ball. But, they couldn’t finish any of the chances they were getting. Eventually, they got eliminated in the penalty shootouts.

After their exit, Megan Rapinoe was heavily trolled on all social media platforms. This was because of her outspoken nature during the political stances she takes. She has angered numerous right-wing supporters in her country due to her support of the LGBTQ+ community and the inclusion of transgender women in sports.

Many high-profile individuals have trolled her too. This includes former US president Donald Trump. After the USWNT’s elimination, Trump went on to rant. He said, “The ‘shocking and unexpected’ loss by the US Women’s Soccer Team to Sweden is fully emblematic of what is happening to our once great nation under Crooked Joe Biden,” “WOKE EQUALS FAILURE.” “Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA.” Trump is running for the presidential election next year. This topic could fetch him more support from his voters.

Donald Trump might have found a new political rival due to his antics. Megan Rapinoe could now join politics after ending her football career. Trump and Rapinoe have always been at loggerheads due to their different stances on issues pertaining to the country.

She was asked in an interview about her political ambition. She said that if she were to enter that area, she would do it solely for the presidency.

This might be worrying news for Trump who is going to stand in the 2024 US elections. He lost out in 2020 to current President Joe Biden. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
