Football fights, by their inherent nature, have the potential of escalating very quickly. From fan groups to ultras and stadium clashes, the list goes on. A video making rounds on social media shows the exact opposite, making a claim for one of the rare instances where fights can be something to laugh about. A popular football Twitter page posted a video of a fight between fan groups of the Doncaster Rovers and AFC Wimbledon.

Even though Doncaster won the game thanks to a solitary goal in the first half, fans still haven’t been able to place the ‘winner’ from the fight mentioned above. A closer inspection at the clip shows a fan doing his best to look engaged in the ‘fight’. As both groups came to blows in a heated encounter, the fan in question did his best to look threatening and scuttle around the fighting men.

Moments later, security personnel arrived, putting an end to the same. Both groups dissolved quickly, and the ‘cocky’ home fans shouted ‘See you later’ to the men that scurried off.

Doncaster sink AFC Wimbledon to maintain unbeaten streak

Even though a hilarious coming together between opposition fans grabbed all the headlines, Doncaster Rovers continued their good run of form in 2024. The League Two side have managed to find their feet in February, managing to stay unbeaten in their last five games. The win against AFC Wimbledon also marked back-to-back wins, a feat the club hadn’t managed to achieve since last October.

The only goal in the game came early on, from Doncaster’s Hakeeb Adelakun. The forward has been in stellar form ever since his loan move from Lincoln City, picking up an impressive seven-goal contributions in his last four games! The #47 found himself face to face with the keeper after just three minutes and made no mistake in finding the net.

His goal proved to be the game-winner, even though Doncaster came close on several occasions to take the lead. However, the most clear chance to score fell to the visitors, who somehow managed to scuff the shot from point black range. As it stands, Doncaster are in 20th position, with 39 points in 33 games. Their opposition have fared much better this season, and are in 13th position despite the loss.
