DRINK WATER- When Cristiano Ronaldo urged fans to stop drinking Coca Cola

Cristiano Ronaldo

On this day, 1 year back, Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo chose to remove coco-cola from his press conference and promote water. A statement that stirred up a lot of controversies later on as well. Moreover, following Ronaldo’s footsteps, many other footballers like Paul Pogba also started removing products like beer bottles from their interviews later on.

Although not true, Twitter was quick to react to that incident citing that Cristiano Ronaldo alone brought down Coca-Cola’s market cap by $4.26 billion due to his press conference. The incident went so viral that UEFA has to intervene and warn the players not to tamper with the sponsor products in any of their future products.

Qatar 2022 last chance for Cristiano Ronaldo to win the World Cup

Portugal has come a long way since the 2018 World Cup and is looking like a team that can genuinely compete for the World Cup in Qatar. This is also the last chance for Cristiano Ronaldo to lift the World Cup for one last time, just like his rival Lionel Messi.

Portugal had a strong start to their international break this Summer too. Winning against Switzerland and the Czech Republic but lost their second game against the Swiss.

However, the Portugal team is starting to look far more composed and less dependent on just Cristiano Ronaldo to bring the goals. Portugal has one more international break before they jet off to Qatar for the World Cup.
