EA Sports FC announces this Real Madrid star as one of key ambassadors

Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. was announced as an official ambassador of ‘EA Sports FC.’ The game was previously known as Electronic Arts’ FIFA. However, it lost its FIFA rights after FIFA demanded that EA pay $1 billion to continue using the licence.

It was announced in May that EA Sports and FIFA would end their 30-year partnership, with the next edition of the game dubbed ‘EA Sports FC.’ However, it will continue to hold exclusive licences and partnerships in the “exciting new era” that will be unveiled later this year. Indeed, the game’s creators “can’t wait to show you the future of football this July.”

FIFA intends to launch a competing “egame” in 2025, which is most likely just a video game. Meanwhile, EA will begin promoting its new FC brand in upcoming matches around the world. The first EA Sports FC game will launch in 2023.

EA Sports will continue its partnerships with the Premier League, La Liga, and Ligue 1, among others. Electronic Arts plans to reveal more information, including gameplay. According to reports, it is waiting for the conclusion of the Summer Games Fest in July 2023.

EA has unveiled the next chapter of the FIFA franchise, ‘EA SPORTS FC,’ with a brief trailer. The game releases later in 2023 on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC.

“EA Sports FC will be a symbol for the sport, a symbol of innovation and change. We’re energised to show our fans more about the future in July,” said EA brand boss Nick Wlodyka. The franchise is also referred to as a “platform to create, innovate, and grow new football experiences, connecting hundreds of millions of fans through console, mobile, online, and esports products,” according to the release.

Cam Weber, EVP, Group GM EA SPORTS & Racing, has revealed what we can expect. “This new independent platform will provide new opportunities for innovation, creation, and evolution. This is much more than a change of symbol. As EA SPORTS, we are committed to making EA SPORTS FC a symbol of change,” Weber stated in a formal statement.
