Edinson Cavani set to begin La Liga journey after shocking transfer to this Spanish club

The Uruguayan International and former Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has agreed to join Spanish side Valencia on a two-year contract, as per reports. It has been told that Cavani will arrive in Valencia today, so traveling from Madrid. It is expected that within 24 hours the contract will be agreed and official statements from both parties will be released.

The 35-year-old Edinson Cavani has been a free agent since his contract expired with Manchester United at the end of last season. He started his Professional club career in 2005 with his boyhood club Danubio at the age of 18. In 2007 he left for Europe, he moved to Italy, and started playing for Palermo.

In 2011, he moved to Napoli and stayed there for 4 years. He got famous out there for his off-the-ball movements and finishing skills. He scored 78 goals from 104 matches. In the 2012/13 season, he won the Serie A top scorer, and also he was named in the Serie A team of the year three times.

Later he moved to French giants Paris Saint Germain, where he played sublime 7 seasons. He played 200 matches for Les Parisiens and scored 138 goals. On 5th October 2020, Cavani famously joined Manchester United in a one-year deal with an option to extend for a year further.

Edinson Cavani and Valencia CF

The Spanish side Valencia CF under the new boss Gennaro Gattuso has completed the signing of Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani. He gives more options for the manager on the attacking side. Cavani is a striker who has got a lot of experience in top-flight football and he is well known for his movements and finishing skills, especially heading.

They already have another young Uruguayan striker Maxi Gomes in their squad. The combination between these two Uruguayan strikers would definitely be a massive threat to opposite defenders. Valencia has one win and one defeat from the two games played in LaLiga this season. In the last game, Athletic Club defeated them 1-0 with Alex Berenquer scoring the winner.
