“Already saw this part,” Eintracht Frankfurt mocks Barcelona after 4-0 Copa del Rey defeat against Real Madrid
Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 4-1 on aggregate to progress to the Copa Del Rey final
Eintracht Frankfurt mocked Barcelona after their loss to Real Madrid in the El Clasico on Wednesday. Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick as the Los Blancos obliterated the Catalan side 4-0.
The Bundesliga side took to their social media and posted the following message: “We already saw this party in white…”. The message is a gentle nod to Frankfurt defeating the Blaugrana 4-3 on aggregate in the Europa League quarterfinal of the 2021-22 season.
Real Madrid and Barcelona met in the Copa Del Rey semifinal with the first leg ending 1-0 in the favor of the latter at the Santiago Bernabeu thanks to an own goal from Eder Militao. However, things clearly did not go the way Barcelona intended at Camp Nou.
After Vinicius Junior levelled the score line in the first-half stoppage time, Karim Benzema began his rampage scoring in the 50th, 58th and 80th minute to complete his hat-trick and put the tie to bed. This was the Frenchman’s second consecutive hat-trick as he scored one in the Los Blancos’ 6-0 win against Real Valladolid.

Xavi responds to Barcelona’s loss to Real Madrid
Xavi was without a doubt the unhappiest soul in Barcelona’s home stadium as Real Madrid humiliated the Catalan club. The Spaniard was outplayed in every area by his counterpart Carlo Ancelotti as Barcelona slumped to their second defeat against the Madrid-based side this season.
Responding to the loss, Xavi stated: “Tonight is a tough pill to swallow and it hurts all of us as Culers. Now we need to react and move won, we have a league to win. We competed a lot better than the result says, it’s exaggerated.”
Giving a tactical analysis of the game, he stated: “In the first half we did very well, but in a counter-attack Madrid took advantage and scored the first. But it was really the 2-0 that killed us. It’s a shame but we have to be self-critical, it was a bad second half. I’m not making excuses. I believe we played very well in both legs. I’d already said Madrid were the favorites.”
