Former Premier League star, Emmanuel Adebayor praised Victor Osimhen in a BBC Sport Africa interview, suggesting that if Osimhen were to join Chelsea in the Premier League, he could have a comparable impact to of the Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba.

Victor Osimhen won the prestigious 2023 African Player of the Year award, making him one of the highly sought-after players in the transfer market. Scoring 26 goals last season, he played a pivotal role in Napoli securing the Serie A title after 33 years. This has made him a transfer target of some of the Premier League’s top clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United. However, despite the attention, the 25-year-old extended his contract with Napoli until 2026, likely deterring interested clubs.

Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Adebayor, who made more than 300 appearances in the Premier League scoring around 120 goals, remarked that the Nigerian could excel if he makes a move to the Premier League because of his mindset and determination. He expressed confidence in Osihmen’s attacking and goal-scoring abilities, suggesting that he could fill Didier Drogba’s shoes at Chelsea. Osimhen idolizes the former Chelsea striker and has also expressed his desire to play in the Premier League in the future.

He has the right attitude, mentality and determination to excel in England.
