England fans to be paid to operate as ‘spies’ at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar: Reports

FIFA World Cup

Up to 40 English supporters are being paid to act as “spies” while the FIFA World Cup is being held in Qatar. The tournament is scheduled to begin in less than three weeks, so planning for one of the biggest sporting events in history is well under way. Rules on drink, drugs, and even fan clothing have been raised in a stern warning to fans about their possible behavior when attending games in the Middle East.

But according to the numerous rules outlined for fans traveling to Qatar, sources have revealed that some fans from our nation and other nations are being charged with spreading positive messages about attending the World Cup and help to maintain the experience above board.

A group of 40 England fans, according to The Times, are being paid by Qatar to go to the World Cup with orders to spread goodwill, sing specific songs when asked, and report negative social media remarks. Sources have revealed that after signing a “code of behavior,” this group will receive free flights, free apartments, £60 per day put onto Visa cards, and gratis tickets.

In essence, everything is covered as long as they follow the rules assigned to them. One of their responsibilities is to sing for the television cameras at the proper moments after receiving tickets to the opening ceremony.

For supporters, the FIFA World Cup in Qatar will be the most expensive one yet

FIFA World Cup

Most football enthusiasts dream of attending the FIFA World Cup to witness their nation compete against the finest teams in the world. This year, though, many people won’t be able to realize their ambition because tickets to the event in Qatar next month are expected to be the most expensive ever.

The cost of travel and lodging is also extremely high, according to research by the Polish financial services company Conotoxia, making tickets for games in Qatar the most expensive in World Cup history. While locals receive subsidized tickets, out-of-town fans must pay between $70 and $220 for group stage events and between $600 and $1,600 for knockout matches.

The cost of general sale tickets for the championship match on December 18 at Lusail Stadium has increased by 46% over the match in Russia in 2018. Most matches currently have sold out of tickets. But up to the end of the competition, FIFA is running an official resale mechanism for individuals who are no longer able to attend. Including airfare from New York, lodging, a rental car, and money for food and drink, Conotoxia projects that the least expensive two-person, 10-day vacation to Doha during the tournament would cost $5,400.
