England fans have been gushing over the Lionesses keeper Mary Earps‘ fearless attitude after saving a Jennifer Hermoso penalty in the 69th minute. England were trailing 1-0 when the referee awarded a penalty after much deliberation with VAR. They were penalized following a handball inside the box by Walsh. The keeper guessed right, diving to her right, and saved Hermoso’s pen. However, her reactions that followed took center stage as she was seen shouting “f*ck off” to the Spanish in a lively and animated response.

Earps put up a wonderful performance in between the sticks for England, making numerous saves to keep them alive. Fans on Twitter were quick to praise the Lionesses keeper for her antics and attitude, even while trailing 1-0. Spain had numerous chances to double their lead, but Earps stood firm and kept the Lionesses in the game. Her efforts however fell short as Spain went on to hold on to their lead to win their first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup title. The Spanish become just the second team in history to win the World Cup in both male and female editions.

Spain became just the second Nation to win the FIFA World Cup in both male and female editions of the competition. The La Roja scored in the 29th minute through left-back Olga Carmona. The Spaniards went on to lift the Trophy as they held on to their 1-0 lead. Spain was the dominant side with 13 shots and over 58% possession.

Lionesses’ keeper Mary Earps saved a crucial penalty from Jenni Hermoso in the 69th minute to keep the English in the game. However, her efforts came short as the Spanish succeeded in shutting out the English attack. Hinata Miyazawa won the Golden Boot with 5 goals while England keeper Mary Earps won the Golden Glove.
