The England team is one of the strongest and favorites to win the Qatar World Cup 2022. With the likes of Harry Kane, Phil Foden, Mason Mount, Eric Dier and many more in the line up the team is pretty much strong enough to win against anyone.
Qatar won the 2022 World Cup bid in 2010 with no stadiums for the tournament to be played on. Since then, they have been putting all possible human efforts into building, financing, brainstorming ideas, and various other means.
Tottenham and England international Eric Dier is bracing himself for yet another World Cup and he was asked a couple of questions about the situation of the migrant workers in Qatar. In response to the question Dier stated that he is finding the situation terrible but the fact they he or the English players cannot do anything about it.
“We come here and know these topics are going to be addressed. I was looking today because I thought I would probably get this kind of question”. He told the reporters that the players in the team and the management are not politicians to give answers to questions concerning politics.
Eric Dier opens up about his feelings on the Qatar World Cup
“We’ve been here a very short time so for me it’s important to live this experience and have a much better idea of what to say on it. A lot of things have already happened – a lot of things are very disappointing. Those will always be in my mind”.
The England international was honest about whatever is happening in the stadiums but was also vocal about how proud he is to represent his country. The controversies have muted Dier’s excitement. But he remains focussed on performing well during and get world cup glory comes home.
