Manchester City star Erling Haaland made headlines on Saturday following City’s comeback win against West Ham United. Known more for his goalscoring prowess than his lively celebrations, the Norwegian star caught eyes for his celebration this time around. Manchester City went behind in the first half, from a James Ward-Prowse header. However, the Cityzens do what they do best. They turned around the result in the second half and took home all 3 points in emphatic fashion.ย
Erling Haaland scored the 3rd goal for Machester City after blasting his shot past Alphonse Areola, the Hammers‘ keeper. But, it was Erling’s unique celebration that caught everyone’s attention. The Norwegian goal machine was seen recreating one of the most iconic moments in Premier League history alongside fellow teammate Bernardo Silva. The pair recreated Paolo Di Canio‘s ‘push’ which came to the shock of the football world 25 years ago.ย
Haaland tumbled to the ground after Bernardo Silva gave the Norwegian a slight push on the chest. The pair were all smiles and what made the moment more enjoyable was the fact that Di Canio who pushed referee Paul Alcock, was watching on from the stands at London Stadium.
Man City completed the comeback thanks to Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland, whose goals saw City maintain their perfect start to the season. City are top of the table with 15 points. After having won 5 in 5 so far this season.

Manchester City keep winning
Manchester City had a scare in the first half versus West Ham before the Cityzens took matters into their own hands to complete a 3-1 comeback win on enemy turf. New signing Jeremy Doku made a mistake at the start of his debut after he saw his side go a goal down when he was dispossessed near the halfway line. West Ham signing James Ward-Prowse got on the end of a cross from Vladimir Coufal to give the Hammers the lead.

However, Pep Guardiola‘s side trailed only for 10 minutes as Doku redeemed himself with a spectacular solo goal. Picking up the ball near the touchline, dancing through the West Ham defense before putting it past Alphonse Areola.ย
30 minutes later, City took the lead through Bernardo Silva after he saw the ball fall perfectly for him from Julian Alvarez‘s chip. Silva deftly placed it beyond Areola who was slow to react. Finally, after missing several clear chances throughout the game, and another shot saved, Erling Haaland had his moment, after Silva pitted Haaland through with a perfect pass into the area.ย Erling’s pile driver of a shot flew past the West Ham custodian ending the game 3-1.
The win puts Man City comfortably in first position as they look to defend their title yet again. Although the season is in its early stages, Erling Haaland leads the Golden Boot race with 7 goals in 5 games. City face Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday for their Champions League opener.
