Erling Haaland is as good as it gets when it comes to scoring goals on a consistent basis. The Manchester City forward and No.9 however, had a game to forget against Arsenal as his performance was anything but impressive at the Etihad. Zero goals scored with no shots on target and a big chance missed calls for criticism.

However, Manchester United legend and football pundit Roy Keane went so far as to compare the forward to a League 2 player! Haaland’s 18 goals and 5 assists did not come to his rescue against Roy Keane as the former United man blasted him for his abysmal performance against the Gunners. He particularly criticized the forward’s ‘general play’.

In terms of his performance in front of goal, he's the best in the world. But for his general play, for such a player, it's so poor & it's not just today. He's almost like a League two player. His general play has to improve.

While Keane had no doubt that Haaland will get better next season, his performance against Arsenal couldn’t have gone by without being criticized.

No goals from City or Arsenal as Pep Guardiola names Premier League title favorites

Pep Guardiola was not impressed with his side’s performance against Arsenal as either side failed to find the net at the Etihad. Erling Haaland and co. were relatively silent in front of goal, and their goalless display ended a run of 57 games, starting from way back in 2021. City failed to score for the first time in 57 games at home, forcing Pep Guardiola to name Liverpool as the title favorites for this year’s Premier League.

Always who is first are favorites (Liverpool). Second is Arsenal and we are third. It's not in our hands. If you are top of the League - like we've (City) been before - you're the favorites.
Pep Guardiola told in a post-match interview

With 27 points left to play for all three sides in the title race, it now depends on whether Liverpool and Arsenal slip up in the remaining nine games this season.

City have games against Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United while Arsenal have to face Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs as well. Liverpool on the other hand, take on Manchester United, Wolves and Aston Villa in their final set of games. With just nine games left, it remains to be seen whether Guardiola will lift a mammoth fifth, or will Jurgen Klopp get his perfect farewell!
