WATCH: Ethan Mbappe emulates brother Kylian Mbappe’s celebration after scoring for PSG
The youngster turned 16 a few months ago.

On Saturday, Ethan Mbappe, Kylian Mbappe’s younger brother, played for PSG’s U17 team against Anderlecht. He celebrated the goal by performing his brother’s signature celebration – with his hands under his arms.
Ethan was playing in the Future Cup, a tournament in the Netherlands by Ajax Amsterdam. It is the 11th edition of the tournament, which brings together the u17s of several European clubs. Players from the illustrious academies of Ajax, Juventus, PSG, Chelsea and Borussia Monchengladbach participate.
The U17 team sent by Paris came up against Anderlecht after overcoming Chelsea 2-1. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Ethan Mbappe opened the score with a sweetly struck left-footed shot that nestled into the bottom corner. He celebrated just like his brother Kylian Mbappe following the goal. Interestingly, Ethan was the one who started the now-famous celebration. The u17 PSG side will play Danish team FC Nordsjælland today. The Future Cup concludes on Monday.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe had a tough time for Paris Saint-Germain in their game against OGC Nice yesterday. Despite his team winning 2-0, Mbappe was largely ineffective, winning just half his duels (4/8) and taking just one shot all game. The Frenchman would be relieved after being bailed out by teammate Lionel Messi, who scored a goal and provided an assist. PSG looked set to win the Ligue 1 title comfortably. However, their poor form in 2023 is a cause for concern. All five of their losses in the league have come since the turn of the year, and they are now just six points clear of second-placed Lens.

Ethan Mbappe hopes to follow his brothers footsteps

The elegant midfielder first made waves in the UEFA Youth League, where he provided an assist on his debut in 2022. He was only 15 years old at the time. PSG tied him down to a three-year contract in 2021.
Although not as explosively fast as his brother, Ethan is still physically fit and willing to put his foot in against players who are frequently four years his senior. “He enjoys organising the game. He’s a more effective one-on-one player, with less explosiveness but more technical skill,” Charley Cassanas, the Boulogne-Billancourt coach, told Le Parisien.
While he may not explode like his brother Kylian, Ethan Mbappe is certainly a player to watch for the future. According to sources, clubs all across Europe are keeping an eye on him. However, he is being given time to develop at PSG for now.
