Football club Everton has confirmed a deal in which Miami-based company 777 Partners will acquire Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% controlling stake in the club. Talks between the two sides have been going on for weeks, and it seems that an agreement has finally been reached.
Farhad Moshiri initially purchased 46% of Everton’s stake back in 2016. By 2022, he controlled 94.1% of the club’s stake. Those stakes have now been bought by 777 partners. In a public statement released by the club, Moshari shed light on the situation, saying it was to maximize the opportunities.
Moshiri stated,“As a result of this agreement, we have an experienced and well-connected investor in football clubs who will help maximise the commercial opportunities, and we have secured the complete financing for our new stadium, which will be the critical element in the future success of Everton.”
Now it seems that the agreement will be made final, barring regulatory non-approval. Josh Wander, founder of 777 Partners, has come out and stated his joy at buying the club’s stake. “We are truly humbled by the opportunity to become part of the Everton family….and consider it a privilege to be able to build on its proud heritage and values,” he stated.

However, 777 Partners has been a controversial football figure. With stakes in several clubs such as Sevilla, Standard Liege etc. None of the news has been good. None of the clubs have made a profit, and Standard Liege fans have already protested against the Miami-based company because of its stake in the club.

Everton is seemingly in a turmoil
With the new season underway, Everton are currently sitting at 18th. No wins and three losses with one draw, spell trouble at Goodison Park. This is the third year in a row that Everton may find themselves in a relegation scrap. The Toffees have had nothing to be positive about, barring the transfer acquisition of Beto. Even his contributions will depend on how well the team can create opportunities for him.
The sale of Alex Iwobi was shocking to many neutral fans, as they believed him to be Everton’s best forward player last season. Dominic Calvert Lewin seems to be out with an injury again and has struggled to find his form in the Premier League. Fans are hoping that the new ownership will mean investments in areas where the squad can strengthen. However, the company has been a negative influence in the case of football.
"I thought overall it was a good performance. The little details are hurting us at the moment… but there are a lot of good signs."

Will Everton survive this year? Many fans believe that will not be the case this season. Sean Dyche will have to pull off something special for his team to avoid another dance with relegation. Demotion means Championship football, which they have not been a part of since 1951.
