Everton faces risk of losing £150 million if they get relegated from Premier League

Everton have been in turmoil for the past 2 years, and their latest financial records might just be adding fuel to the fire, with the club recording their fifth straight season of losses. According to new reports, the club can also lose hundreds of millions if the club get relegated this season.
Farhad Moshiri is an extremely unpopular figure at Goodison Park. The Blue side of Liverpool is perhaps the worst-run club in the league, with recent insights highlighting exactly that.
According to DailyMail, Everton received a loan of 150 million pounds to be repaid by the year 2027. However, should the Toffees get relegated at the end of the season, an immediate repayment option can be triggered, which is a possibility considering how they are a single point clear of the relegation zone.
The loan providers are said to be supportive of the club, but not to the extent that they would waive off the loan for any period of time, and with half a billion more pounds required for the construction of their new stadium, Everton are in a huge adversity financially.
The loan repayment is not the height of their concerns, as their losses of 313.5 million pounds over a 3-year period is astronomically more than the 105 million that the Premier League’s PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) allow for. The huge scale of the discrepancy between the losses is said to have been the reason for the recent Premier League charge against the club.
If the Toffees do want to survive relegation, they will have to prove that they can offer a fight against a Tottenham Hotspur side in a fight themselves for a Champions League Spot this Tuesday.

With only seven points separating the teams from 12th to 20th position, it is anyone’s guess which teams will stave off the drop. West Ham United is set to take on Southampton at the London Stadium today, the battle for safety is just as exciting as the title race, if not more so.
Now that there are only 10 games left to go, the determination and character of the players will come into play just as much as their talent and tactics. At the moment, Leicester, West Ham and Southampton occupy the bottom 3 spots, with Everton just one point clear, but teams all the way up to Crystal Palace will be wary of the drop zone.
All eyes will be at the London Stadium tonight, with the two sides at the bottom of the table set off against each other in a crucial six-pointer for safety. Can Southampton avoid the drop this season?
