A high-flying Manchester United will host West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday. The red devils will have a greater advantage against their Premier League rivals as the match will be played in Old Trafford.
Eric Ten Hag’s Manchester United have been in impressive form this season. They have already clinched their first title last week winning the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United, ending a 7-year-long trophy drought. They would look to win their first FA Cup since 2016, when Louis Van Gaal’s men beat Crystal Palace 2-1.
Since then, Manchester United have failed to win the title. Currently, United is the only team to compete in all competitions and ten Haag would love to replicate his former Dutch predecessor’s achievement.

Manchester United and West Ham United In the FA Cups
Manchester United has been one of the most dominant sides in the world’s oldest association football tournament. The club has won the trophy 12 times in the past. Sir Alex Ferguson has won the trophy five times during his 26-year reign.
West Ham United, on the other hand, has won the trophy only three times with their last victory being in 1980. They did come close to winning in 2006 but faltered in the final match.
Manchester United and West Ham United head to head
The rivalry between the Reds and the Hammers goes back to 1911. Since then, the duo have faced each other 150 times of which the Mancunians have won 72 times. West Ham has also been victorious on 46 occasions, having drawn 32. Since the turn of the decade, United have lost only once to the Hammers, winning 6 matches and drawing once.
In the FA Cup, West Ham is yet to beat Manchester United in five attempts. Manchester United won three of them, drawing the other two.

Eric Ten Haag will have the fatigue of the players in mind while the relegation battle will keep David Moyes occupied. However, the Red Devils boss have made it clear that Manchester United players should be ready to play in all competitions to win them.
