“Failed to score and now playing racist card, it’s a shame!” – Fans BASH Thomas Tuchel, question Julian Nagelsmann’s sacking as Bayern Munich fail to register shot on target against Lazio in Champions League

Bayern Munich have been a shadow of their former selves this season, with some even questioning why the club sacked Julian Nagelsmann in the first place.

The past week has been less than kind to defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. The Bavarians were thoroughly beaten by rivals Bayer Leverkusen before succumbing to Lazio in a cagey 1-0 encounter. The German giants risk elimination from the Champions League while also being second favorites this year to win their ‘guaranteed’ Bundesliga trophy.

A rough night at the Stadio Olimpico and a red card for Dayot Upamecano summed up Bayern’s night in their Round of 16 opener. Amidst recent failures and the team struggling to pick up form, a chunk of fans have turned against the manager. Thomas Tuchel joined Bayern after parting ways with Chelsea Football Club in 2022.

While his arrival sparked great hopes for Bayern, the Champions League winner has largely been unable to replicate his success with the Germans. His first full season at the club has been less than ‘ideal’, with the club trailing by five points to Xabi Alonso‘s Leverkusen.

The 1-0 loss to Lazio last night does not add to the club’s and supporters’ confidence either. Dayot Upamecano of all players had a night to forget as he picked up a red card, leading to the game-winning penalty.

Fans tear into Thomas Tuchel, ridicule supporters for ‘racist’ remarks against Upamecano

Bayern Munich are not having the most ideal of seasons, be it domestically or in Europe. Thomas Tuchel, the man who fans expected to lead them to Champions League glory, has ‘failed’ to deliver, or at least that’s what fans on Twitter think. Many pointed to the club’s ‘unnecessary’ sacking of Julian Nagelsmann midway through last season. Even though Tuchel directed Bayern towards the Bundesliga, the same has not been the case this year.

A fan said that Tuchel was well and truly on his last legs at the club. Others had a go at the club management for sacking Nagelsmann to begin with. A surprising statistic revealed that it took Tuchel just 43 games to lose 10 games. His predecessor took nearly double the number of games before accumulating ten losses in all competitions. A clip showing Nagelsmann smiling in the dress stands as Bayern lost 3-0 to Leverkusen summed up the situation.

Even though reports suggest that the club ‘refuse’ to part ways with Tuchel, other sources claim that the German plans on replacing Xavi at FC Barcelona. The latter has announced his decision to part ways with Barcà at the end of the season after failing to achieve certain targets during his tenure. Barcelona however, are in a situation worse than that of Bayern. The Spanish giants are in third position and ten points behind rivals Real Madrid.
