Chelsea and Real Madrid played out a goalless first half as they faced each other in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal at Stamford Bridge. The first leg ended 2-0 in Real’s favor, thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Chelsea was seen dominating the play as they kept most of the possession for the first 45. Reece James looked to be the most dangerous player on the pitch as the Blues kept attacking ruthlessly from the right-hand side. The Englishman was not in his usual position as a wingback and was given a much forward role with Wesley Fofana covering the right-hand side defensively.

Kai Havertz and Conor Gallagher also looked sharp for Chelsea as the German was constantly seen winning aerial duels. Gallagher was seen making driving runs into the box every time the Blues marched into the final third. However, the deadlock has not been broken yet. Thibaut Courtois, although, saved a dangerous shot from Marc Cucurella late in the half to keep Real in the game.

Chelsea would be hoping to capitalize on their chances in the second half. Real, however, would be looking to keep Chelsea’s attack on lock and see out the rest of the game.
