Football fans are thrilled over the ‘Over-35s’ World Cup in England this summer. Some of football’s all-time greats are set to take part in the tournament, with Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, and Kaka being a few names among them.

The eight-team tournament, held in England, will feature England, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. Organized by the Elite Players Group (EPG), owned by notable former footballers and sports businessmen, the event is being led by the founders themselves, who also lead their national teams. Ronaldo, now with PSG, returned to his boyhood club, Sevilla, after two years.

The tournament is for players over 35 who have represented their country or made 100 top-flight appearances. Seven matches are scheduled for early June, bridging the gap between the Champions League final and the start of Euro 2024. Each game will have 11 players per side, last 70 minutes, and allow rolling substitutes. Quarter-finals will be on June 4 and June 5, followed by semi-finals on June 8 and the final on June 11.

Additionally, this competition will feature many legends, such as Michael Owen, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Hernan Crespo, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Marcel Desailly, Mesut Ozil, Fabio Cannavaro, Carles Puyol, and Diego Forlan.
