“Oil will never buy class”- Fans exhilarated after Vinicius Jr. levels Cristiano Ronaldo’s record and gives Real Madrid early lead against Manchester City in UCL tie

The Brazilian has been in fantastic form this campaign.

Real Madrid go 1-0 up at halftime after Vinicius Jr scored a wonder goal to give Manchester City the lead. Both teams started quite well in the first half with Kevin de Bruyne having the first shot of the match clawed away by Thibaut Courtois. Rodri had the next go as he lashed a shot out the box saved by Courtois in the bottom corner. Man City is having all the shots with the Belgian goalkeeper being a busy man.

Real had their best chance after a beautiful pass from Rodygo but Ederson recovers well. Man City is dominating the match stats with the Los Blancos having few chances to breakthrough with Courtois keeping them in the game. Ruben Dias had blocked a brilliant pass from Vinicius Jr with Benzema all set to score. They are containing City, different from their usual philosophy but with City having all possession, they would not want to give chances.

The Los Blancos showed their experience and triumphs in the competition despite poor results in the previous matches losing three of their four La Liga games. While the Spanish top-flight title race looks to be over, they still look dominant on the biggest European stage. However, Madrid tended to play more aggressively after with fouls coming from all directions.

Vinicius Jr scored a banger into the top corner from 25 yards after some brilliant link-up play with Camavinga within 34 minutes of the match despite City having all the possession which changed the complexity of the game. However, Madrid tended to be more aggressive after the goal as Dani Carvajal fouls Jack Grealish. That is four fouls from Carvajal on Grealish without a booking now. Toni Kroos makes a really poor tackle on Gundogan which leads to the first booking of the match.

City hasn’t played badly and Pep Guardiola will encourage to keep up the same but will encourage more chances to be created owing to the second half. Carlo Ancelotti might make some changes despite the lead given the fact they have less than half the possession during the first half. City will face them in the second leg at their home ground on 17 May.
