Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is known for his harsh treatment and ‘hardline’ approach to training and player discipline. Jadon Sancho’s public spat with the manager ended up in the former leaving the club. Prior to the same, Sancho was made to train alone and was also isolated from the first team. While many have blamed Ten Hag for his ‘harsh’ approach towards the Englishman, it is now reported that he has asked another player to do so as well.

Manchester United #9 Anthony Martial has been part of the club since 2015, but has failed to make an appearance for the club since early December. The player has been criticised for his inconsistent form and inability to stay fit for long periods. The United manager has reportedly asked the Frenchman to train alone, pointing to his fitness levels being below the required level.

It is, however, necessary to note that it is standard at the club for a player to train alone after returning from injury. That being said, the amount of time Martial is taking to regain his fitness has been ‘raising eyebrows’.

Unless the club receive a significant offer in January, it is widely understood that the player will end up leaving for free in the summer.

Fans fed up with Erik ten Hag’s treatment of players

Several fans have expressed their disapproval of Erik ten Hag’s treatment of players. Looking back at the Jadon Sancho situation, several supporters believe that Sancho was not in the wrong and that Ten Hag should not have ‘exiled’ him from the squad. With time running out for Martial, supporters have sided with the Frenchman, stating that he’ll be left with no players if he keeps this up.

Many laughed at how ‘beefing’ with every player in the squad wouldn’t win him games. There was significant criticism for Ten Hag’s behavior of scapegoating certain players as well. Many spammed their disapproval of the Sancho situation, which ended up in United losing a ‘top’ talent. Some still sided with the manager, and said that he was doing a very good job of ‘getting rid of’ all the mediocre players.

While Anthony Martial is the one training alone, some also wanted Ten Hag to ship off Antony, the Brazilian winger, who has failed to impress at United. An extremely fed-up fan called for INEOS to get rid of Erik ten Hag. Here are some of the reactions:
