Alejandro Garnacho scored for Manchester United on his return from injury as Manchester United beat Wolves in the Premier League. The Red Devils ran out 2-0 winners, with Anthony Martial scoring the other goal.

The fixture felt like a must-win game for Erik Ten Hag’s side after back-to-back defeats and Liverpool breathing down their necks. Anthony Martial calmed the nerves with a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball was turned over on the halfway line leading to a United break. Bruno Fernandes got his head up well to slide through Antony, who put the ball across the goal to Martial. The Frenchman made no mistake as he slammed the ball into the bottom-right corner.

The second period was a relatively quiet affair. Jadon Sancho had a rare bright moment in the 73rd minute as he drove into the box and shifted the ball onto his right foot. He struck a low and hard shot heading for the bottom left corner, but debutant goalkeeper Daniel Bentley turned it around the post.

However, Alejandro Garnacho’s introduction injected some much-needed energy into the Red Devils. The home side had sorely missed the Argentinian’s pace and directness, and he looked lively upon his comeback. The 18-year-old capped off his return with a goal on the counter in the fourth minute of injury time. Fernandes sent Garnacho through on goal, who showed great composure driving into the box, before curling his effort around Bentley and in off the post.
