The International break is officially underway, and soon a moment from the English camp has gone viral. The protagonist is none other than Tottenham star James Maddison. Meanwhile, Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was at the receiving end of the humorous incident. Maddison recently posted an Instagram story, which he captioned “Still asking for a replay??♥️,” while poking fun at fellow compatriot Trent and Liverpool Right-back.
Netizens have made the picture go viral on social media where Maddison is clearly taking a dig at his international teammate. The Spurs midfielder was directing the fun toward the very heated Liverpool vs. Tottenham game that took place in the Premier League last weekend. Both Maddison and Trent featured in the game for their teams as the game ended in a 2-1 victory for the Londoners. However, it wasn’t without controversy.
It was Liverpool fans and player who were not happy with the refereeing throughout the game. First, it was the Luis Diaz’s disallowed goal that was later deemed ‘not offside‘ by the PGMOL that raged the Scousers. Then, the couple of red cards worsened the hate towards the referees. Many Liverpudlians felt that their team was robbed of ‘important points’ for a title charge this season.
Recently, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp expressed his disapproval by saying that ‘a replay’ seems to be a fair outcome. So, this is what Maddison was referring to when posted a pic with Trent Alexander-Arnold, on his Instagram story.
