“Proper WWE champion; Practicing for his next profession”- Fans mock Cristiano Ronaldo for choking opponent in Al Nassr’s defeat against Al Hilal
Al-Nassr trail by three points having played a match more in second place.
Cristiano Ronaldo v Al Hilal
Al-Nassr’s captain Cristiano Ronaldo saw yellow for an ugly challenge during Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo went into referee Michael Oliver’s notebook after 56 minutes of the clash. The Portuguese superstar was guilty of hauling Gustavo Cuellar to the ground in a headlock, leaving the match official with little choice but to brandish the yellow card.
The booking came on a bad night for Al-Nassr as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat. Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo scored two penalties to give the hosts all three points. The result leaves Ronaldo’s side three points behind leaders Al-Ittihad who also have a game in hand. Not everything is going as easily as expected for Ronaldo, since he made his move to Saudi Arabia at the beginning of the year, ending his time at the top of the sport.
Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in December after the 2022 FIFA World Cup concluded, looked to be tracking an aerial ball along with the Al Hilal midfielder Gustavo Cuellar. Cuellar appeared to back into Ronaldo to gain better positioning, causing the Portuguese icon to try to leap over him which led to the takedown. The game was a frustrating one for the Portuguese ace. Chances were few and far between to come by for the away side.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner missed a headed chance and was left a frustrated figure. Al-Alami’s SPL title quest took a major hit after the loss to the defending Saudi and Asian champions. Al-Nassr has 53 points from 24 games and trail league leaders Al-Ittihad by three points, having played a game more than Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.

Cristiano Ronaldo names seven Real Madrid legends in his Best XI of teammates
Cristiano Ronaldo will go down as one of the greatest ever to play for Real Madrid. The Portuguese icon enjoyed a stellar nine-year stint between 2009 and 2018 at the Santiago Bernabeu, breaking all sorts of records and amassing a mind-boggling goal tally and trophy haul. Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus in 2018, having given his best years to the Merengues, becoming the club’s all-time leading goalscorer in the process.
After stints at Juventus and Manchester United, the 38-year-old now finds himself playing for Saudi Arabian giants Al Nassr in the final phase of his career. But, without a doubt, Ronaldo looks back fondly on his time at Real Madrid as revealed by the fact that he has named as many as seven of his former teammates at the Bernabeu in the best XI of footballers he has played with.
He has included Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema in his Best XI of teammates. The remaining four slots have been taken up by Giorgio Chiellini, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes, and Wayne Rooney. Ronaldo enjoyed an excellent time with the aforementioned seven Real Madrid stars at the Santiago Bernabeu. He formed the fearsome attacking trio ‘BBC’ with Benzema and Bale.
