Premier League club Tottenham Hotspurs and Formula One signed a 15-year contract. The shocking deal will include the world’s first in-stadium electric kart track. The Spurs stadium already hosts NFL and football matches as well. With the addition of Formula One, the stadium will soon become a hotspot for multiple sports, and attract fans from all over the world.

The deal will lead to a new racetrack under Tottenham Hotspurs stadium’s south stand which will be opened this fall. The new track will be London’s longest indoor track and the world’s first in-stadium electric go-kart track. The venue is accredited by the National Karting Association, which makes it a potential site for future championship races. The track will also include motorsport activities, and food and beverage facilities.

Premier League club Tottenham Hotspurs is one of the most valuable clubs across Europe, with a net worth of reported $3.19 billion in 2022. According to Sportico’s valuation, it is the sixth most valuable team in the Premier League. With the addition of the new contract, the revenues generated by the multi-purpose stadium are set to increase.

Tottenham fans were shocked by their club’s new deal, slamming Spurs’ for spreading out their investments in other sports. This is no longer a football club. Concerts, NFL, go karting , what’s next? The money & investment needs to go into the club, it’s players, set up and so on… not building a F1 track. For all those saying, but it will produce more income, yes, which won’t go back into the team,” A tweet read, shortly after the announcement.

“We’ll sooner use our money to build a spurs hotel on mars than win a trophy,” fans mocked Spurs owner Daniel Lewy, for the club’s lack of trophies in recent years. “For crying out loud. Spend money on the team!!” another frustrated fan tweeted. It will be interesting to see how Spurs use the income generated from the Formula One project in their football club.
