Brighton’s head coach, Robert De Zerbi, showed a touching gesture towards his former player, Alexis Mac Allister, after Sunday’s game against Liverpool. Despite the match ending in a 2-2 draw, De Zerbi’s support for Mac Allister won the hearts of the football community.
The match was played at Brighton & Hove Albion‘s home ground, the Amex Stadium. De Zerbi encouraged the home fans to cheer for Mac Allister throughout the game. The Argentine player received warm love and admiration from Brighton fans for his past successes with the team before joining Liverpool.
Alexis Mac Allister joined Liverpool at the beginning of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign. The popular transfer deal was estimated to be worth £35m. The main strategy was to improve the midfield impact on the games. Currently, Allister has signed a contract of 5 years with the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, has been taken aback by Zerbi’s surprising tactics and gameplay when they faced off in January 2023. Even in an interview, Klopp made some hard comments on Liverpool’s game quoting it as the ‘worst’.
