During a heated match with many bookings, that saw 10 different players booked, Galatasaray’s Fernando Muslera saved Besiktas’ Valentin Rosier from hitting the goalpost. This moment stood out in contrast to the game’s repeated fouls.

When a fast through-ball from Besiktas’ Rebic got past Rosier, Muslera’s quick push saved him from crashing into the post. Ante Rebic sent a fast pass that Valentin Rosier couldn’t reach. So, due to the momentum, he was heading for the goalpost but the Galatasaray custodian was there to rescue.

Despite a moment of sportsmanship earlier, the game got intense. Besiktas had 6 players booked, and their goalkeeper Mert Günok received a red card for a handball outside the box. Galatasaray won 2-1 with Mauro Icardi‘s 81st-minute penalty.

This win keeps Galatasaray close to league leaders Fenerbahce, who are two points ahead. Next, Galatasaray faces Bayern Munich in the 3rd match-day of the UEFA Champions League.

Galatasaray are currently in a great position to lift their 24th League title with the signings of Wilfred Zaha and Hakim Ziyech strengthening their squad. Mauro Icardi is also having another incredible season scoring ten goals in nine league matches and is set to have another prolific goal-scoring season. Galatasaray’s only opposition to the title, as of now, is Fenerbahce who they will face on the 24th of December at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
