“Brainless”; “Mitrovic is stupid”- Fans react to Fulham receiving 3 red cards in 1 minute against Manchester United in FA Cup

Fulham saw two of their players sent off in their FA Cup quarterfinal tie against Manchester United. To make things worse, manager Marco Silva was also sent off as the London based club crumbled within a minute against the Red Devils.

After Aleksandar Mitrovic had poked in the opening goal from a set piece early in the second half, Manchester United were awarded a penalty for a Willian handball. Upon consulting the VAR, the referee decided to send off Willian for handling the ball in a goal scoring area.

The mayhem, however, started after the first red card. Manager Marco Silva was sent off as he was seen screaming at the referee and criticizing his decision.

The most controversial moment of the match came when Aleksandar Mitrovic manhandled the referee for sending off his manager and teammate. The referee immediately reached for his back pocket after the incident and sent the Serbian off.

Fans react to Fulham’s three red cards in one minute

It was the handball from Willian where things started to go wrong for Fulham who were leading up until that point. Fans took to Twitter where they voiced their opinions saying Mitrovic’s red card was probably the most deserved as the Serbian shoved the referee at his decision to send his colleagues off.

The impulsive decisions made by Fulham players and manager led to their doom as they lost 3-1 to United. A brace from Bruno Fernandes and a goal from Marcel Sabitzer were enough to send the Red Devils through to the semis.
