Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne was spotted in attendance at a UFC match. Fans were thrilled to see the Premier League star at the event. The player was spotted at Abu Dhabi, for the UFC 294 event. He was in the audience for the Alexander Volkanovski vs Islam Makhachev fight.
Meanwhile, De Bruyne’s team Manchester City edged Brighton to a narrow 2-1 win at the Etihad. The Cityzens were without Kevin de Bruyne. However, the Belgian midfielder’s absence was not felt in a much-needed 2-1 win.
Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland both got on the scoresheet as City rose to the top of the table. Star midfielder Kevin de Bruyne was, however, not in attendance for the game as he was at the UFC event in Abu Dhabi.
The 32-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. However, City fans have not seen their player in action for the last 2 months as since is nursing a hamstring injury.
Moreover, the Belgian even appeared in a video, in which he greeted the fans. He said:
Kevin here. I'm at the Abu Dhabi UFC fight. Can't wait to see the games. Enjoy!
Further, the fans were jubilant to spot the City star and shared the same on social media under the clip.

Fans were thrilled at the sighting of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne at the UFC fight. The player who is out with a hamstring injury has been sidelined for the last 2.5 months. His unexpected appearance and video greeting the fans drew many laughs. A fan commented, “Bro don’t wanna play football anymore,” to another added, “He’s doing the side quests now.”
Here are some of the fan reactions:
“Bro’s living the life before his comeback,” said a fan, pointing to his absence due to injury. “The GOAT deserves a break,” said a proud KDB fan. “KDB would rather go to the UFC than watch a City game,” said a fan, trolling City for their lack of supporters.
Moreover, the Man City star is not likely to make a return until the end of 2023. City, however, have been faring well in his absence, and find themselves top of the table after yesterday’s win.
