As Pep Guardiola recently updated on Kevin De Bruyne’s reckoning injury, deluded Manchester United fans returned on Twitter and social media. De Bruyne is undoubtedly regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time by pundits and players worldwide, and Fernandes’ name cannot even be spoken in the same breath as his. He had earlier sustained an injury during Manchester City’s UCL Final against Inter Milan and made a comeback against Burnley on Matchday 1, only to have the injury recur again.
Many fans expressed concerns about him being rushed too soon from injury, which probably was the case. “It’s a serious injury,” claimed Guardiola as the 32-year-old midfielder limped off the field with a painful hamstring. He also confirmed that De Bruyne is expected to stay out for at least four months, and they are yet to decide on surgery. De Bruyne had also missed City’s pre-season due to his recovery.
Fans will have to wait until the second half of the season to witness Kevin’s greatness on the pitch again. Pep Guardiola sighed and seemed rather unpleased with the journalist’s questions about his star player’s fitness. He also confirmed that academy prospect Rico Lewis, just about eighteen, had signed a new 5-year extension with the club.
“It’s a blow for us, a big loss,” said Pep in distress, highlighting the strength of the alternatives at his disposal. This is good news for rival fans from neighboring Manchester Club and Arsenal. The midfielder’s crosses and goals almost always terrorized them. While they could have sent in their best wishes for his speedy recovery, they reacted like children by celebrating his discomfort.

Kevin De Bruyne’s recurring hamstring injury on matchday 1 draws a lot of reaction from fans on social media. Many sent in their best wishes for his quick recovery as his presence helped their FPL. While many were childish enough to celebrate it. Most fans were concerned about not witnessing the midfield maestro on weekends. Here are some of the reactions:
Kevin De Bruyne is a joy to the eyes, and football fans to see him again soon as Manchester City takes on Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup. A trophy they will be competing to win for the first time.
His partnership last season with Erling Haaland set Europe on fire. So it must be a relief for the rest of the teams not to see them together for a while. However, ‘Mancity’ is known to have players step up when one star gets injured, so it will be interesting to see how this impacts their season.
