Everton secures important win against Brighton to avoid relegation

Everton secured their first full point in their last five games victory drought. The Toffees who are fighting relegation secured a 5-1 victory against Bright and Hove Albion. Dwight McNeil, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Alex Iwobi’s trio break the spine of Everton in the Premier League tie. 

Everton took their first lead in the very first minute of the game. The toffees scored their first goal in just 33 seconds of the game. Brighton tried to stop Calvert Lewin but got it wrong. The player strode into the boss making a formidable pass to Abdoulaye Doucoure. The Mali player had no problem opening the lead.

The Mali forward got his brace in just 30 minutes of the game. English midfielder Dwight McNeil took an ‘inch perfect’ cross which found Doucoure. The Mali forward had no problem volleying the cross into the goal. Things got nasty for Brighton once again before halftime. The English Winger took a low powerful shot. The ball hit the legs of Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele, taking Everton to a three-goal cushion.

Soon after the first half both teams found a goal for their side. The Everton winger was all in form today after the assist. The winger received the ball from Alex Iwobi who dribbled it into the box and even the goalkeeper. The player celebrated even before scoring into the empty net. Brighton found one goal back in the 80th minute of the game from the efforts of Mitoma and Alexis Mac Allister which was none more than a consolation. Dwight McNeil adds to the misery of the game after finding his brace and scoring the sixth in the dying minute.

After today’s match fans couldn’t believe the win Everon made against Brighton. From being sarcastic to unbelievable feelings, people took to Twitter.

Fans even compared Everton’s performance with Manchester United. ‘Everton scoring 3 goals past Brighton when United couldn’t even score one goal ‘ said one. The toffees have crushed the dreams of Brighton and Hove Albion to play in the Champions League after today’s tie.

Everton has three matches left to be played. The team looks forward to win all the games to prevent relegation. Today’s game was a must-win for them as their next game was against Manchester City who are having a brilliant run.
