Manchester City has joined the race alongside other European Giants to sign Declan Rice this summer. Rice is set to leave West Ham United after leading them to the UEFA Conference League title victory in the 2022/23 season.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man City reportedly sent an official bid for Rice which was £80miliion in guaranteed fees for the player and £10 million add-ons. They sent this bid right after Arsenal’s second bid worth £75millions fees and £15 million was rejected by West Ham.

Reports suggest that Man City’s bid was also rejected by the club today as they want £120 million for the English star. Man City and Arsenal are now rumored to come back with a better offer soon as they both reportedly see Rice as a priority signing for this summer. Man City reportedly decided to bid for Rice after the departure of their prime midfield legend Ilkay Gundogan was confirmed as he joined FC Barcelona on a free transfer for a two years contract.

Other top clubs like Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Manchester United were also counted to be in the race. But Man City and Arsenal seem to be the two most probable destinations for Rice if he moves out of the West Ham locker room this summer.

Rice is reportedly ready to join both the clubs as likes both their projects. He informed the West Ham board about his decision to leave the club after this year. This was the reason why he didn’t accept an extension offered by the club.

Manchester City have reportedly joined the race to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United this summer. This was reportedly anticipated by many critics as Ilkay Gundogan left Man City for FC Barcelona. His place is now reportedly vacant at the club and Man City sees Rice as a perfect replacement. Earlier Arsenal was confident to be the front runners in the race to sign the English midfielder. But with Man City’s involvement, they aren’t very sure.

Fans mocked Arsenal right after it was official that Man City had officially bid for Declan Rice. They seem to believe that this transfer is going to slip off from Arsenal’s hand and Manchester City are going to end up victorious in signing the talented midfielder this summer. Many even took to social media to show their feelings about Man City’s participation in the race.
