Fans criticized Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag for defending his decision to sign the former Inter Milan goalkeeper, Andre Onana, who has been under fire for making way too many errors while playing for Manchester United.

Onana, signed by United for £47m this summer, aimed to fill David de Gea‘s shoes but faced a tough start. Despite earlier praise for his play at Nerazzuri, he’s drawn criticism at Old Trafford. Silly errors, like the one against Galatasaray, led to goals slipping away, sparking concerns about his performance.

Erik ten Hag praised the Cameroonian player, calling him ‘one of the best’ goalkeepers in the league. Before the Red Devils’ match against Newcastle, Ten Hag explained why he chose Onana over other goalkeepers. He emphasized Onana’s excellent performance in stopping expected goals.

Erik ten Hag’s shocking defense in support of Manchester United goalkeeper, Andre Onana received criticism from all spheres of United supporters, after he made a ridiculous claim that Onana is the ‘best shot-stopper in the league’, right now.

Manchester United fans and ‘X’ users had a completely different opinion of Andre Onana, terming Onana as the ‘worst goalkeeper in the history of the club’. Some fans backed Turkish goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir to take Onana’s place in the team’s starting lineup, showing their disregard for the Cameroonian. In addition to that, some fans claimed that the United manager is deluded and sarcastically added that Onana should be awarded the ‘golden glove’ for making bloopers.
