The Premier League is a ‘cruel’ place. Fans never pass up an opportunity to troll and make fun of opposition players, with Reece James becoming the latest victim of the same. Liverpool took on Norwich City in the FA Cup on Sunday. The Premier League leaders made easy work of the Championship side, winning 5-2 on the night.

As Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s understudy, Conor Bradley shone on the night, much of the attention fell to Chelsea skipper Reece James. Currently injured and out of action, the Englishman only has one assist to show for the entire season. With James unlikely to make a return until late February, many have seen Bradley’s brace of assists as a good reason to ‘attack’ the Chelsea man for his ‘poor’ record.

Bradley’s two assists against Norwich were enough for Liverpool fans to initiate the Bradley comparisons. The player set up goals for both Darwin Núñez and Ryan Gravenberch.

Goals from Virgil van Dijk, Curtis Jones, and Diogo Jota meant that Liverpool had no chance to their opponents. The club, however, did concede two brilliant goals from their opposition.

Fans troll Reece James and compare him to Bradley Cooper

Liverpool and Chelsea fans have not seen eye-to-eye for a long time running. Chelsea captain Reece James has been out of action for Chelsea since early December. A persisting hamstring problem meant that James had to undergo surgery for the same. However, a solitary assist for the 2023/24 season meant that Bradley overtook his record in a single match. A fan said that James has never been better than Bradley let alone Trent.

Many Liverpool fans confidently labeled Bradley as the best right-back in the league after Trent. As always, Manchester United star Antony caught strays, comparing his single assist for the entire season as well. However, others called Liverpool fans ‘insecure’ for being James into the mix even when he is out with an injury. In a brutal dig, a fan asked Reece James to remain retired and not come back from recovery.

With reports that the defender will not be back in shape for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, chances are that Liverpool will have the advantage in the final. As it stands, Chelsea are 9th in the Premier League and face league leaders Liverpool on the 1st of February. However, in terms of league form, the Premier League announced that the club has been the most ‘in-form’ as of late.
