FC Barcelona awaits Manchester City’s response after they make £80 million offer for this player on deadline day: Reports

Xavi and Bernardo Silva

Bernardo Silva is a top target for Barcelona boss Xavi as he attempts to rebuild at the Nou Camp following the playmaker’s outstanding performance yet again last season. He  is a very good player, and Barcelona is very interested in acquiring him because they believe he would be a great addition to their team.

Xavi is particularly enthusiastic about the prospect. Bernardo Silva has received a €70 million Plus €10 million offer from Barcelona. They are awaiting a reaction from Manchester City. Bernardo Silva’s transfer issue has ended in an entirely anticlimactic manner when the midfielder publicly announced that he will remain at Manchester City at least through the 2022–23 season.

“I am staying at Manchester City. I haven’t received any offers, and the decision has been made,” the Portuguese said. All summer long, Bernardo has been connected to a transfer to Barcelona. Pep Guardiola repeatedly stated that the player would not leave today, but it was too late to arrange a replacement during this window.

Speculation on Bernardo Silva’s transfer to Barcelona

Bernardo Silva

In the interim, reputable writer Gerard Romero persisted in spreading the rumours, claiming that Barcelona has enough financial flexibility to complete the trade right away.

In reality, he asserted that the two teams had reached a deal about the transfer and were just waiting for Barcelona to straighten out their finances. Now that there are no longer any rumours about Bernardo, the Catalans can concentrate on strengthening the team’s other positions, starting with the right and left back positions.

In the pregame press conference before City’s season-opening match against West Ham United, Guardiola answered questions on Bernardo Silva’s potential future, who is still being linked to a move to Barcelona.

“I would love for Bernardo to continue here, a very special player in the locker room. But I don’t know what will happen. What happens will happen, if he stays is perfect, if he has to leave it’s because football is like this,” he said

“Players have desire and I’m not a person to stop a person desire in life. A football career is so short. I’m a small part of the club, I have to speak to the club, they decide and I say okay.”
