FC Barcelona unveils new gold away kit for 2022-23 season inspired by the Olympics
Barcelona has unveiled their new away uniform for the 2022–23 season, with Nike’s most recent design taking influence from Olympic gold.
The design of the jersey also includes a city map with hints to the sites used for the 1992 Games, which were hosted in Catalunya. The five Olympic rings are represented by colored trim at the end of the sleeves.
In order to commemorate the 30th anniversary of one of the city’s most famous summers, Barca already had the Olympics in mind while providing their home uniform for the forthcoming season.
FC Barcelona’s new away kit is out now!
With the slogan “The Flame Lives On,” the Blaugrana have unveiled their away jersey. One of the most recognizable clubs on the planet claims that the design evokes “the way that the Olympic spirit that drove the city of Barcelona into a new era is still burning and a part of men’s and women’s everyday lives.”
From June 27 to July 2, Barcelona’s e-commerce platforms and Barca Stores will be offering an early sale of the team’s 2022–23 away jersey.
The players’ on-field jerseys and shorts, as well as the replicas worn by supporters, are made entirely of recyclable polyester fabric created from recycled plastic bottles, just as Barcelona’s home uniform for 2022–23.
Additionally, fans may participate by purchasing a shirt that will be of the same caliber as the one worn by Xavi’s t
eam during La Liga and Champions League matches. Additionally, “this golden color symbolizes all the qualities that go into earning an Olympic gold medal, including determination, ambition, work, and the never-ending pursuit of personal progress, as well as how gold medal-winning athletes set the bar for others to strive to.”
Barcelona believes the uniform also pays “particular homage” to Barcelona Femeni and their remarkable recent achievements on and off the field. By winning the triple, which featured a first Champions League victory, and by smashing attendance records, the squad has inscribed its name into history.
