Cristiano Ronaldo recently won his first trophy with his club Al-Nassr. The team faced their arch-rivals Al-Hilal in the finals. It was a match that was bound to have some heated moments. Al-Nassr was the better team in the first half, dominating their opponents in every pitch sector. Al-Hilal was only saved by some exceptional goalkeeping display. 

In a tradition, the winner of the Saudi Cup gets to hoist their flag in the middle of the stadium. Al-Hilal did it last year. But things turned heated when an Al-Nassr player attempted to do the same. Al-Hilal player Al-Albulayhi got angry and started attacking him. This became a heated situation as players from both teams began squaring off. The referee somehow ended it.

The first-half scores somehow remained 0-0. This allowed both teams to take the match in the second half. Despite Al-Nassr’s heroics, Al-Hilal was the first to strike. Malcolm Oliveira gave Micheal Oliveira a brilliant cross into the box, who finished it with ease. It turned into another gear in the game. Al-Nassr started dominating again, this time with more urgency. Ronaldo and Talisca both took their chances but couldn’t strike it. The match was turning into a heated affair. Both teams’ defenders were tackling hard and trying to injure their opponents.

It all went haywire when Al-Nassr player Al-Amri was sent off due to a harsh tackle on Malcolm. But with Al Nassr’s back in the wall, Ronaldo stepped up. He scored in the 74th minute, giving them the equaliser. The match went to extra time, where the Portuguese scored again in the 98th minute to win the game for his team.

The Saudi star Al-Albulayhi who challenged Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

This was not Al-Albulayhi’s first clash with an icon. He clashed with Lionel Messi in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. During Saudi Arabia’s game with Argentina, Albulayhi had a heated exchange with the Argentine.

The player had approached Messi and challenged him, saying he would end up on the losing side. Messi did not react. However, his prophecy came true as Saudi won the game 2-1.

It was one of the most shocking games in World Cup history. However, Messi had the last laugh as he lifted the World Cup trophy. On the other hand, Saudis couldn’t make it past the group stages.
