Everton continued their poor start to the pre-season as they suffered a 4-0 thrashing to MLS club, Minnesota United. To make matters worse, the team have failed to register a single goal in pre-season so far and Dele Alli’s open goal miss won’t lift the supporter’s spirits.

Everton travelled to the United States of America to begin their pre-season and was greeted with a 2-0 loss to Premier League rivals Arsenal in their first game. The second game wasn’t any better for them either. It seems the club’s dry spell from last season hasn’t gotten over yet.

Frank Lampard was seen as extremely frustrated with his team as they lost a game most expected them to win comfortably. Last season, Everton survived relegation by just 4 points and Lampard has already warned that this season could put the Toffees in a similar situation again.

Frank Lampard is now well aware of the amount of work he must do to make Everton competitive again. The Toffees managed to survive relegation by just 4 points last season and could be in a similar situation next term as well.

New signings are also needed by the club. So far, they have only signed James Tarkowski on a free transfer while having lost Richalrlison for £60 million to Tottenham Hotspurs.

Dele Alli himself will be desperate to prove himself again to the club as they gear up for their final 2 preseason games before the Premier League begins in August. The Toffees have a tough start as they face Lampard’s former club, Chelsea, on opening day.
