Al Nassr ‘fooled’ Cristiano Ronaldo with high salary without showing him any difficulties, says former Barcelona star
Rivaldo highlights the difficult conservative lifestyle and not so easy football in Al Nassr as may have been expected by Cristiano Ronaldo
Rivaldo is not fond of the Contract signed by Cristiano Ronaldo with Al Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo’s humongous contract with Al Nassr has already set a record in transfer history. But former Brazil International Rivaldo said that the contract ‘fooled’ Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Barcelona midfielder highlighted the conservative and strict lifestyle of the Middle East. The former Brazilian International said, “I understand that sometimes the players are fooled by the big contract they sign in Saudi Arabia, but then life there is more closed and football is not always as easy as expected.’
Cristiano Ronaldo signed a huge contract with Al Nassr for a period of two and a half years in 2022. As per the terms of the contract, Al Nassr would pay $173 million to acquire the services of the 38-year-old. Rivaldo says that often players get attracted to such lucrative contracts without knowing the hindrances and difficulties.
The Portuguese forward has scored 14 goals and assists in 13 games for the Riyadh-based club. But as per reports, the former Real Madrid forward is not happy with the performance and style of football in Al Nassr. This further establishes the genuineness of the statement of Rivaldo.
Is Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, a reality or a myth?
Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid back in 2017. The player left for Juventus after which his return to Los Blancos is a dream to all football fans. The 38-year-old playing for Al Nassr although enjoys a huge contract but is not happy with the number of controversies surrounding him.
Real Madrid once again turns up for the player while offering him a deal. This time not for playing on the pitch but to be an ambassador off the pitch. This means that Ronaldo upon accepting the offer will need to hang his football boots.
Former Barcelona midfielder Rivaldo tried to hint that choosing Real Madrid over Al Nassr would be a better option for the player. “It would be good for him and for football to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to Real Madrid to finish his career,” said the Brazilian International.
Cristiano Ronaldo has yet not made any statements regarding the offer. But it is no longer hidden that the former Manchester United forward has been subject to stringent problems and criticisms while playing for Al Nassr. Recently Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez has also kindled controversy increasing speculations of Ronaldo’s transfer to Real Madrid. It is now to be seen whether Ronaldo ends his career and lands in Spain to help Los Blancos off the field.
