The Wales legend is currently a free agent after leaving Real Madrid, and a sensational return to his birthplace has since followed, with Bale on the lookout for a new club.

It comes after he led Wales to their first World Cup in 64 years with a 1-0 win over war-torn Ukraine in the play-off final. According to reporter Glen Williams, the winger recently spoke with Cardiff manager Morison about his future. They claim Bale was undertaking physio with the FAW’s medical staff at the club’s Vale of Glamorgan headquarters.

Furthermore, manager Steve Morison spoke with the player, who was in attendance for pre-season. Bale has just returned from a vacation, but he is scheduled to leave again until July 16th. However, it is expected that he will confirm his next move “in the coming days” rather than when he returns home. When asked about his club options this month, Bale grinned and said, “I’ve got loads.”

Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman had flown to the UK to begin talks with the 32-year-old in an attempt to bring the forward back to his hometown club. Gareth Bale had previously suggested that the level of football he plays in the build-up to the World Cup makes “not that much of a difference,” amid ongoing speculation about a move to Cardiff City.

MLS clubs have already expressed interest in the forward, but it is believed Tottenham are not interested in bringing him back for a third stint in North London. Southampton, another of Bale’s former clubs, have also been linked with the Welsh record goalscorer.

Wales coach Rob Page declared a deal with Cardiff would “tick all the right boxes”, while the veteran attacker’s agent Jonathan Barnett revealed his next move will not be driven by money. He won the Champions League five times and three LaLiga titles in his nine years in Spain, scoring 106 goals in 258 games.
