Cristiano Ronaldo has had very low support from his claim of the SPL being better than Ligue 1.

In January, Cristiano Ronaldo claimed that the Saudi Pro League was much more competitive than Ligue 1, the top flight of France. He believed the Saudi league was better than the French league already, and will soon become a top three league in the world.
Unfortunately, his remarks did not meet well with everyone. Paulo Fonseca, the manager of LOSC Lille, said he felt he would waste his time commenting on the remarks. Eden Hazard didn’t agree with the 39-year-old’s opinion, saying Ligue 1 had bigger teams compared to the SPL.

Now a former World Cup winner has joined in on the debate, asking Ronaldo to “shut up”. Frank Leboeuf, who won the World Cup with France in 1998, claims Ronaldo made that claim due to his rivalry with Messi. Leboeuf asked why the Portuguese legend could not talk about the Portuguese league instead.
It annoys me when I hear Cristiano Ronaldo saying that the Saudi Pro League is better than Ligue 1. Why do you think he chose to make that comment about Ligue 1 rather than the Portuguese league? It’s because Lionel Messi played in Ligue 1. I have lots of respect for him as a player but come on, just shut up! It is unfair to Ligue 1.Frank Leboeuf to BetVictor
Ronaldo currently is the highest goal scorer in the Saudi Pro League, with 22 goals so far. Despite a great goal scoring record, Leboeuf believes it’s time the football legend doesn’t play for his country anymore.
Frank Leboeuf claims Portugal are favorites for Euro 2024 without Cristiano Ronaldo
Frank Lebouef believes that Portugal are favorites for the upcoming Euro 2024. That is as long as Ronaldo is not playing for his country. The ex-French player claims the forward is now close to retiring, and for that he should no longer be selected.

I actually think they can win the Euros, but only if Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t play. You cannot take away anything that Ronaldo has done for football just because he has gone to retire in the Saudi League. I want to thank him for taking the sport to another level, but there is an end for everyone.Frank Leboeuf to BetVictor
Ronaldo is the most capped Portuguese player, with 205 caps. In those 205 matches, he has scored 128 goals for his country, the most by any player in the history of the sport.
