Shion Homma is an exciting talent who currently plays for Club Brugge in Belgium. Joining in 2022, the winger had been purchased from J-League side Albirex Niigata, Homma started his time by playing in Brugge’s youth team, Club NXT.
Making his debut for the Club NXT in 2022, he spent most of his time with the youth team, occasionally playing for the first team. In the current season, he finally got his chances, playing three games for Brugge so far.

One of Homma’s best moments in his run with Club NXT this season was a goal against SK Beveren. Deployed at the left wing, the Japanese forward cut into the box, gliding past his man. He chipped the ball over the keeper, and it hit the back of the net. As he went to celebrate his goal, he ran into a pole which held up the net of the goal.
THe physio ran out with an ice pack which he put over a now swollen forehead. He smiled as he walked back to the field. The goal got Club NXT their 2nd goal of the match, confirming their victory in the match.
Players that have hurt themselves while celebrating
Since the start of the sport, many players have hurt themselves while celebrating goals. One of the oldest and more iconic moments was of Steve Morrow of Arsenal. Celebrating their League Cup victory in 1993, Morrow was picked up by Tony Adams on his shoulders. Unfortunately he slipped and fell awkwardly, breaking his arm.

Swiss player, Paulo Diogo, assisted while playing for Servette FC. Wanting to celebrate with the fans, he jumped on to the barrier between the fans and the pitch. As he got off, his left ring finger got ripped off. He was also given a yellow card for time wasting, when in fact he and the stewards were searching for his finger.
Nicolai Muller of Hamburg celebrated a goal he scored in the 8th minute of the game against Augsburg. He ran and did a few twirls, but then fell to the ground after tripping on the corner flag. He had ruptured his right Anterior Cruciate Ligament, ruling him out for seven months.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has also been a player to hurt himself while celebrating. In 2010, while playing for AC Milan, he admitted he was “tired and worn-out”. Just two days after that statement, he hurt his arm while doing a fist-pump, but still played the 90 minutes.
