Gabriel Jesus has had trouble scoring goals. Playing as Arsenal’s striker, he has managed only three games in 16 league matches. While he does contribute on the field thanks to his great link-up play, dribbling, and technicality.  

After Arsenal’s incredible 5-0 win over Crystal Palace on the 20th, where Jesus failed to score yet again, he revealed that he was banned from the popular video game “Counter-Strike 2”. He had received a VAC ban on the 20th, which meant he was permanently banned from the game.

A ‘VAC’ ban, or Valve Anti-Cheat Ban, is given to players when the developers of Counter-Strike believe a player is caught using cheats. Steam usually checks if players use cheats and if caught, they are banned. Steam has handed over 765,00 ‘VAC’ bans by the end of 2022.

Many footballers spend their free time playing video games, like Gabriel Jesus. His Arsenal teammate, Oleksandr Zinchenko, recently subbed in for a player in his CS2 team a player had connectivity issues. Neymar Jr. is a huge CS fan and regularly streams himself playing the game. Mesut Ozil streams himself playing Fortnite and also has his esports team. Antoine Griezmann, along with many other people in the industry, loves playing Football Manager. In an old viral video, Griezmann informed Kylian Mbappe that he had signed him for Newcastle United. 

Fans request Gabriel Jesus to work on his real-life shooting skills 

Gabriel Jesus has struggled to find the back of the net this season. While many Arsenal fans began to ask Jesus to start focusing on football now that his Counter-Strike account was banned there were a few who defended him. Moreover, some fans believed that he needed a hobby outside of the sport.

Meanwhile, in 22 matches, Gabriel Jesus has only scored 7 goals. Further, in the Premier League, he played 16 matches and managed to score only 3 goals. Despite being Arsenal’s top Champions League goal scorer, fans want more. Jesus’ last goal for Arsenal was in December during a 2-0 win over Brighton.
