Arsenal are set to announce the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, with a deal described as ‘completed’. Jesus has one year left on his Manchester City contract and has emerged as a key transfer target for Arsenal in recent weeks as the Gunners look to bolster their attacking options.
Jesus has signed a five-year contract with the Gunners until 2027 with his compatriot Edu, Arsenal’s technical director, and head coach Mikel Arteta being a key factor in the Brazil international accepting the offer to move to the Emirates Stadium.

There were questions raised about the club’s decision to let Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave without replacing him in January, while fellow striker Alexandre Lacazette was also allowed to leave after his contract at the Emirates expired.

Despite the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer, Jesus struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Pep Guardiola last season, appearing in just 21 Premier League games and frequently being deployed in a more unfamiliar right-wing position.
Despite his somewhat limited gametime, he finished the season with 12 goals and 13 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, earning a fourth Premier League winners medal and averaging a goal or assist every 103 minutes.
Arsenal are also in talks with Raphinha, Jesus’ international teammate, after signing Fabio Vieira as their first major signing of the summer earlier this week.
