Gareth Bale has been offered a new deal to return to football

Gareth Bale has been offered a new deal to return to football, days after announcing his retirement. On Monday (January 9), the Wales icon called it time after winning an impressive career that saw him bag 18 major honors. He won 16 of those trophies during his time with Real Madrid. Though Bale has never won a title with Wales national team, he was able to put them back on the Football map.

Under his captaincy, Wales had some historic runs in tournaments, with the highlights being the 2016 Euro Semi-finals and the 2022 World Cup qualification. The former Real Madrid star scored 41 goals in 111 appearances for his country. Welsh isn’t yet ready to let go of the champion player, and head coach Robert Page is considering keeping Bale involved with the national side. He seemed interested in getting Bale on board for EURO 2024 as a coach or in an ambassadorial role.

I’ve had that conversation, but I would love him still to be involved in some capacity. Now what that role is, we don’t know yet. He just needs some time with his family. It’s a big adjustment for him, training every day to go into a normal-ish life and doing the school run, but we’ll have another conversation with him in a few weeks,” said Page.

We’ll make a plan moving forward because he’s got so much to offer. Even his presence in the dressing room, and the hotel environment is something I would be really keen on to keep him involved, but I’ll leave it up to Gareth and what suits him and his family. I think he would be keen as well,” he added.

Gareth Bale: The most expensive player until the Neymar to PSG transfer

Gareth Bale got into the limelight of football when Real Madrid paid a mammoth amount of £86 million to Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 to sign him. It was a world-record fee (highest) until PSG broke the bank to sign Neymar from FC Barcelona.

During his glittering career, Bale played for Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, and MLS club LAFC. In the closing stage of his career, Bale played 12 times for LAFC and won the MLS Cup.

The 33-year-old was once at the top of football, sharing the stage with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. He also said it was his career’s hardest decision to give up international football. Bale will go down in football history books as one of the greatest wingers to play the game. He has everything on his cv in club football and is the all-time top scorer for his country.
