Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti differ in the transfer situation of Ferland Mendy: Reports
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly having a cold war with the club management regarding the future of Ferland Mendy‘s position at the club. Ancelotti trusts the player and wants him to be a part of the team for the season.
Real Madrid on the other hand prefers to sell the player and get the funds into their coffers. The club hierarchy does not trust his fitness. Mendy recently faced recurrent setbacks over the past season. Mendy has suffered multiple injuries since his move back in 2019 and has played only 133 games in all competitions.
Mendy reportedly wants to stay at the club and fight for a starting spot. He’s even hoping to sign a new contract. All three parties involved have three different evaluations of the situation.
Last season, Ancelotti had only the Frenchman to count on as a natural left-back and following his fitness woes Eduardo Camavinga was forced to take up responsibilities in defense. The youngster did a phenomenal job despite playing out of position. However, the coach reportedly sees him as a midfielder for the new campaign and wants Mendy for his assigned role.
