Manchester United legend and pundit Gary Neville has recently penned a passionate expression on Twitter about his club’s situation. The sad reaction probably comes from United’s recent loss of 3-1 to Brighton at Old Trafford. Neville blasted out, blaming the Glazer family, which owns the majority stake in the English Club, for ‘everything wrong.’
Some social media fans argued that he needed to improve the team even after getting almost everything. Erik Ten Hag has yet to cement his name as a dependable manager. The situation, however, is not as simple as it seems, as Neville pointed out, clarifying how owning a business requires the owners to be more involved with the success of it.
Neville hilariously stated that the owners have ‘set a culture of greed‘ at the club. A mediocre set of results for the club has followed it. In the past decade, Manchester United have essentially fallen down into the shadow of their ‘noisy neighbors‘ Manchester City. This has resulted in them losing credibility for their fans to be a matter of pride. Howsoever rich their history bestows upon them, the current scenario at United erratically needs some ‘Glory.’
United’s recent loss essentially lingered Neville’s response as he asked the Glazers to sell his beloved club for the better quickly. With headlines, but primarily for negative reasons, in Jadon Sancho and Antony both under scrutiny, United has faced massive uncertainty. The club’s future remains in jeopardy as the ongoing financial battle between Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim is yet to account for anything significant for the supporters.
Manchester United succumbed embarrassing defeat to Brighton at home
Manchester United’s struggle only increased as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the feet of Brighton. This left their early-season start in the dark light. They also faced the embarrassing chant of away fans from Brighton, “Can we play you every week?” as they struggled to be comfortable even at home.
Manchester United’s current assembled suad was recently named the most valuable worldwide at £347 million. It only comes as a brutal shock as they lost to merely a £17 million assembled squad by Roberto De Zerbi. The loss marks United’s 3rd in 5 games, increasing pressure on the Dutch manager.
Despite scoring through a wondergoal by Hannibal Mejbri, Brighton became the better team. Former United Player Danny Welbeck scored against his Ex-club, adding salt to the wounds of the supporters. Having gathered just six points from their first five games, it has been a disappointing start to the season, with pressure mounting on the club’s hierarchy to work on the situation.
