Granit Xhaka is no stranger to scoring bangers. The Swiss midfielder has a wonderful catalog of screamers, scored throughout his career. The 31-year-old recently made the move from Premier League club Arsenal to Xabi Alonso‘s side. Leverkusen are currently 2nd in Bundesliga with a game in hand. Moreover, a win against Wolfsburg will see the club take 1st position on Saturday.

Recently, Granit Xhaka’s clip from Leverkusen training is taking rounds on social media for a brilliant finish. In a video that went viral, the midfielder pulls off a marvelous dink finish over the keeper. The official social page of Leverkusen posted the goal, with the caption, “Granit, that’s just filthy.” Such was the finish pulled off by the player.

Xhaka receives a grounded cross from his teammate and instead of placing his shot to the side, or taking a touch before blasting his shot, Xhaka did something unexpected. In an effortless movement, the player sticks out his left foot forward, catching the keeper off-guard, poking it over him with a deft touch.

The ball flew over the keeper, as he watched on helplessly. After the finish, the player walked off with an expressionless look on his face.

Bayer Leverkusen set to rise to the top of Bundesliga

Xabi Alonso has transformed Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the short time at his disposal. The Spaniard has rejuvenated his side, with the club racking up an impressive 19 points from their first 7 League games. Moreover, the club is unbeaten in its last 10 games. Alonso’s side have scored a whopping 23 goals this season in the league. They are joint top for goals scored alongside defending Champions Bayern Munich.

Leverkusen are second in the League. However, the side captained by Lukas Hradecky has a game in hand. They are set to face Wolfsburg in a game away from home. A victory against The Wolves will propel the side to the top of the League. At the moment, Borussia Dortmund are top of the table, with 20 points in 8 games.

The former Real Madrid and Liverpool player has taken the League by storm. With just one year under his belt, his side is comfortably dominating the Bundesliga at the moment. Moreover, his exploits at Leverkusen have warranted attention from top clubs in Europe. Subsequently, former club Real Madrid are interested in Alonso. It is understood that the manager will take charge of Real once Ancelotti’s tenure ends.
