The ongoing Premier League title race has been a spectacle for fans all around the world. With only 10 matchdays left in the league, it is a three-horse race between Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City. Liverpool and Arsenal are tied on points, with City just a point behind.

On 10th March, City traveled to Anfield and played out a draw. Despite dominating the first half, they conceded a penalty in the 2nd half and lost control of the game. The match ended 1-1. Now the Citizens have two games left in the month of March, the FA Cup quarter-final with Newcastle United and the League clash with the Gunners.

The last time the two had met, Arsenal won, thanks to a late winner by Gabriel Martinelli at the Emirates, and now they will play at the Etihad Stadium. After drawing to Liverpool, Pep Guardiola praised Arsenal for their incredible attacking prowess, while demeaning his players inability to score at Anfield.

We need 98 minutes to win games, Arsenal need 25 minutes to go 3-0. [Brentford] was a little bit tighter, but…we knew it, we knew last season when Arsenal make 50 points. I’m not surprised about the situation right now, not at all.

Arsenal are coached by Guardiola’s former assistant, Mikel Arteta. Although Arteta has managed only one league win in the past 4 years, he has built a new Arsenal side that could go toe-to-toe with the Treble winners.

Arsenal have had an incredible 2024

Going into 2024, Arsenal had struggled. Being at the top of the league at Christmas, losses to West Ham and Fulham brought them down to third. At the start of the month, they were also knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool. But Arteta and his men found a way to comeback, as they now sit at the top of the league

In the 7 Premier League matches they have played so far, Arsenal have not lost a single one. They began the year by thrashing Crystal Palace 5-0 at home, and following that with a win over Nottingham Forest.

They then hosted Liverpool, who they beat 3-1, bringing them closer to the City and Liverpool. In the next five matches, they scored 23 goals and conceded only two goals, thanks to which their goal difference also jumped to 46. They beat West Ham, Burnley, Newcastle United, Sheffield United and Brentford.

Now with 10 games left, Arsenal have to still face City, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Manchester United to see them win their first title since their iconic Invincibles. Their first hurdle will be facing the Treble winners at the Etihad Stadium.
